
During
the 2007-2008 volunteering year, The Junior League of Troy plans to participate in the following community projects.
Our major project this year includes many projects. We have "adopted" the Stephentown Elementary School and are doing monthly projects there.

THE
ELIZABETH TALBOT COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
Established
in 1994, the Elizabeth Talbot Community Service Award is
in memory
of Elizabeth Talbot, daughter of past Junior League
president Karen Blase Talbot and her husband, Walter.
The award is given to two juniors at Catholic
Central High School who has shown a commitment to
voluntarism and demonstrated outstanding service to the
local community. The
winners of the award are presented with a $500 scholarship
to be applied to her senior year at Catholic Central
High.

THE
POLLY MASON COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
In
April 2000, The Junior League of Troy established the Polly Mason
Community Service Award. The
award is named after Polly in recognition of her selfless devotion to the
people and organizations of the area.
Polly is an outstanding volunteer, mentor and friend, who sets the
standard to which we all aspire.
The
recipient of the Polly Mason Community Service Award is a person who has
done the most to contribute to the social, economic, educational, cultural
and civic conditions of the community and who is both a loyal and
efficient member of the community.

to School Supplies
Each
Fall the Junior League collects hundreds of school
supplies for the students at Troy Public School 2.
The League has been collecting these basic
school supplies for the past several years to ensure
that the children of School 2 have the necessary
supplies to be successful in school.

Stroll
Troy's
Victorian Stroll will be taking place on December 2, 2007 this
year. Volunteers are needed. Please do not forget to provide
your donation of 6 dozen cookies, even if you cannot attend the event.
